《學華語向前走》以第二語言教學概念為基礎，語言著重生活化，具真實性及功能性，學習後能應用於日常生活。注重語言整體使用能力、聽、說、讀、寫四種語言平衡發展。以互動式的課堂遊戲及任務活動帶動語言學習，達到自然而然的學習目標。作業本採建構式設計，循序漸進，以輕鬆方式鞏固所學。以注音及正體字為主，兼顧漢語拼音及簡體字。各冊間由共同主題串聯.

K1入門教材共十二課，提供『漢語拼音』：學習核心部分：完整語音系統，課文核心句，生詞。本冊第六、十二兩課為核心句綜合複習課，複習前面課數的核心句並定量分配加入語音練習，完成第六課後可學會所有聲符，教材於第五課 開始加入聲調練習。作業本：每課均包括聽、說、符號認讀，拼合及書寫練習。

Student must wear Tzu Chi uniform and use Tzu Chi backpack. Must be age 5 and up to enroll in PinYin1 class.

Let's Learn Mandarin (For Children) is built on second-language teaching concepts, the language focuses on the practical, authentic, and functional aspects so students can use what they have learned in everyday life.  Comprehensive language ability is the focus, with balanced development of the four basic language techniques: listening, speaking, reading, and writing.  The dialogues, sentences, traditional characters, grammatical structures.  Interactive in-class games and task-based activities are used so the language learning will be will be natural.  The homework book uses a constructive design and advanced by steps to consolidate what has been learned in an easy way.  Reading and writing sections chiefly use phonetic symbols ( Bopomofo) and traditional characters.  Hanyu Pinyin and simplified characters are also included.  The textbooks are tied together by common themes and progress from the easy to hard.  

K1 teaching material consist of twelve lessons, and is available in Hanyu Pinyin.  Learning core:  A comprehensive phonetics system, lessons in core sentence pattern, and vocabulary words.  The 6^th and 12^th lessons of these textbooks present comprehensive reviews of the core sentence patterns, which review the previous core sentence patterns from the lessons and distribute the phonetics symbols by quantity.  When students complete Lesson 6, all initials will be learned.  In Lesson 5 of the textbooks begin incorporating tone practice.  Lesson exercise:  This includes recognition of the phonetic symbols of each lesson, combination practice of initials and finals, communicative language practice, and games and activities.  Homework book:  Each lesson includes listening, speaking, phonetic symbols, initial-final combination practice, and writing practice.
