本冊內容的編寫是以美洲地區小學五年級學生各項學科的知識水平與生活經 驗為範疇。包括兒童文學、生活倫理、人文關懷、自然科學、歷史社會等中國和美國本土素材，使用符合五年級程度的文字編寫成饒富趣味和知識的故事、短文、新詩和對話，使學生沈浸于豐富的語言運用和有樂趣的學習中文。本冊共有十課，每課為一單元，分成三大部份：課文、語文練習及說故事。

1. 訓練學生講故事-能夠生動地講述十個故事(課本)。

2. 訓練學生朗讀技巧：朗讀課文中的古詩和短文。

3. 訓練學生閱讀：能夠流利地口讀課文(無漢語拼音)。

4. 訓練學生做 SAT & AP 題型的複習。

5. 生字詞及語法練習: 共有160個生字和生字關連的273課常用詞。

6. 成語練習：選取 40-50 個 (學生需要能理解和語用，不要求讀寫) 。

This volume is compiled based on the knowledge level and life experience of fifth-grade primary school students in various subjects in the Americas. It includes Chinese and American materials such as children's literature, life ethics, humanistic, natural science, history, and society, etc., and uses texts suitable for fifth grade level to create interesting and informative stories, essays, new poems, and dialogues, allowing students to immerse themselves in Rich language use and fun learning Chinese. There are ten lessons in this book, each lesson is a unit, divided into three parts: text, Chinese exercises, and storytelling.

1. Train students to tell stories - be able to tell ten stories vividly (textbook).

2. Train students' reading skills: read ancient poems and short articles in the text.

3. Train students to read: be able to read texts fluently orally (without Chinese Pinyin).

4. Train students to review SAT & AP question types.

5. New words and grammar exercises: There are 160 new words and 273 common phrases related to the new words.

6. Idiom practice: select 40-50 (students need to be able to understand and pragmatically, reading and writing are not required).
