首冊分為八個單元：1.教室常規、用語、打招呼 2.名字、稱呼、交朋友3.數目字和數數兒4. 家人、環境和運動5. 顏色、形狀和動物6. 身體五官和動作7.食物、水果和飲料 8. 天氣、穿著和生活。本冊的教學方式，學生在遊戲、勞作、兒歌、故事、畫畫等活動中提升語言的能力。基礎班學習漢語拼音, 本冊採用綜合教學法, 沒有中、英文發音混淆的缺點。
